301 W. Broughton St, Suite 401, Savannah - New Loft Construction

Print

This project was one of our first jobs we contracted in Savannah, GA. We began the project with only 1500 sq ft. of raw space that we renovated into a 2000 sq. ft. loft with two floors that opens onto a 500 sq. ft. Ipe roof deck overlooking the entire city.We were able to incorporate the true authentic beauty in the plaster by leaving it exposed and not painted, refinishing the original heart pine floors, and exposing the old post and beam roof trusses in keeping of that old historic elegance already present.  Access was created in the ceiling to the attic to become what would be the master bedroom opening to an outside deck. Soundproofing the space was another aspect of the construction. This loft space turned out beautifully. When the owner went to sell the loft he sold it to the founder of CBS news, who purchased it for his grandson attending Savannah College of Art and Design. This project was definite success for everyone involved.

"My name is Michael Conner. I own both Locos Grill and Pubs in Savannah, GA. I highly recommend Commonwealth Construction and their exceptional team. I have been working with them since 2003. They have completed every size job for me from fixing a handful of small items around both restaurants every month to building residential lofts in historic buildings downtown. They've also built our million dollar Southside Locos at 8108 Abercorn Street, Suite 120 Savannah, GA 31406. All of the projects have been completed on schedule and under budget. In my mind, their integrity and values alone separate themselves from most other contractors. I would and have recommended them to everybody."-Michael Connor, July 15th, 2006
